Anxiety is worrying about the unknown; it affects you mentally and physically. The following are common symptoms of anxiety: feeling restless, tired, have difficulty concentrating, irritable, or can’t sleep. When anxiety is left untreated it can manifest into a debilitating state. Everybody experiences anxious thoughts and feelings; it’s how you mention it that makes the difference. Let’s work together to help you manage your thoughts, decrease the triggers, and reduce or completely eliminate your anxious symptoms.

Have you ever felt stuck, and nothing was going your way? You wake up in the morning and feel as though you never slept. If you are constantly worrying, crying, feeling worthless and irritable you may be depressed. Depression can affect you in different ways, some people experience; a rapid heartbeat, lack motivation, fatigued, may lose or gain weight. Although praying about the situation is good, it also helps to talk with someone who is trained to help you explore your feelings, validate your thoughts or just support your concerns. Let us help you, let’s talk.

Traumatic events can occur at any point during a person’s life. When traumatic and stressful situations happen, they can have a long-lasting effect on a person’s mind and body. Sometimes a person can relive the event through flashbacks or nightmares. Events like an accident, being raped or badly beaten are all are all examples of trauma. If left unchecked can develop into a debilitating form of chronic depression. Processing the trauma in a safe environment can help reduce the symptoms. By working with our therapists, you can start to let go of the negative experience and become restored.

A persistent intense fear of embarrassment, being watched, or judged by others are common reasons for social anxiety. When the symptoms are continuous, they may become debilitating and interfere with daily activities such as work or school. At My Positive Transformation we can help you get back to enjoying life by identifying your triggers and becoming aware of the cognitive distortions.

Sexual activity without consent, molestation, rape, or attempted rape can have a long-lasting detrimental effect on a person’s mind and body. Often people who have experienced sexual trauma feel ashamed, embarrassed, blame themselves for the abuse, or isolate themselves. If this has happened to you, our therapeutic services can help you work through your sexual trauma and regain control of your life.

N.E.W.S.T.A.R.T.

There is a correlation between poor mental health and an unhealthy lifestyle. N.E.W.S.T.A.R.T., is an acronym for eight laws of health that help you achieve optimal health, peace and wellbeing. Practice these laws every day and you will begin your positive transformation.

NUTRITION

Nutrition is more than just avoiding certain foods like salt or sugar, it’s about providing our bodies with the nutrients we need to be healthy.

EXERCISE

Exercise does not have to be hard or painful, it can be walking, playing a game, or any physical activity you enjoy.

WATER

Water is a vital staple for our body. It helps detoxify our body and cleanse our skin.

SUNSHINE

Sunshine rejuvenates the body, provides a healthy glow and vitamin D from the sun. Remember to use sun-block. Sunlight increases your immunity, strengthens bones, and promotes well-being.

TRUST IN GOD

Trust in God helps to release your mind and body from stress. Living with God helps promote harmony, peace, reduce anxiety, depression and promotes contentment.

AIR

Air is an important component for relaxing the body. Taking a deep breath of fresh air can cleanse the mind and quiet the soul. Fresh air improves the digestive system, blood pressure and the immune.

REST

Rest reduces stress, inflammation and the risk of heart disease, boosts the immune system, promotes weight loss, rejuvenates the body, decreases depression and promotes well-being.

TEMPERANCE

Temperance provides balance in your life. Taking things in moderation and self-control promotes a positive self-esteem and health.
